They have made it lighter, faster, and it appears, less expensive.

1. wow, this looks good!
I have been wanting a micro 4/3 camera and will consider this when I'm ready to upgrade from my point and shoot.

2. Yeah, it is. The purist are having a conniption because it has gone touch screen.
I can't wait to see the reviews.

3. BTW, Olympus and Sony make nice cameras. The
Sony has a larger sensor, but it is rather unorthodox.

4. I have looked at the Olympus micro 4/3
didn't realize Sony had one too.

I read a few comments on a review site of the GF2, some people were snarking at the touchscreen capability!

5. It's not a micro 4/3, but an APC. It's a larger sensor than m4/3

As you can see, it is different. But I can tell you, you should be able to get great deals on the Lumix GF1 now that a new model has been released. The lumix will probably be better as a learning platform because it isn't aimed at the novice. Lumix has good glass from what I've read.

6. when I'm ready to buy, I just might go with the GF1
because I don't really care about the touchscreen - yeah, I bet there will be good deals!

That Sony looks interesting! Thanks for the links :-)

8. Just noticed I called it an APC, I meant APS-C.
