1. I hate to toss around the word "perfect" but I can't help but think

these are each, well, perfect. The last one has a Winslow Homer quality to it that I just love.

3. OH my, Richard, they are so beautiful. The top two make my heart ache

with the first one winning out over the second.
Could you not stay another week just for me?
I know you are sad to leave.

I have had the good fortune to spend a week or so on Hawaii and Oahu.
I was unfortunately only 28 at the time, and the appreciation of a place as glorious as Hawaii like most other things improves with age.
But even then I was wedded to my camera.

I was at a very unhappy time in my life then, and for that reason alone I am hoping to go back in this lifetime and make up for the sad vibes of that time.

I'm really impressed with the subtlety you pull out of the shadows. In the first shot, I count 5 different levels of beach rock/cliffs, off into the distance, and this while keeping the spray and whitecaps from being blown out. Are you doing Lightroom and/or Photoshop on a laptop at your hotel/condo in Kauai? If so, we may be kindred spirits. Great photos.

Thank you! Yes, kindred spirits.
My camera, Lightroom, a toothbrush, and a change of clothes. Almost all I need to travel. Except in perfect lighting conditions, I always take three bracketed shots, and I check the histograms between each shot. Seems to help a lot.
