Today my mother would have turned 85. We used to take her out for a birthday meal, preceded by a martini (sometimes two!). This one's for you, Mom.

I'm off to spend 3 weeks with my 86 year old mother, who needs me and who needs to, in spite of infirmity, kick up her heels with me by her side.

I'm doing it because I can. And I'm so grateful.

My mother turned 86 this year, and though she is somewhat frail now, she is still pretty spry-maybe a bit too much so for her own good. She recently had the brilliant idea to run to catch a cable car in San Francisco, and slipped and fell flat on her face! :scared: Luckily she's ok, suffering only a few scrapes and bruises.

Very cool martini shots! The reflection of the olive is great! My mother too loves her martinis!
