1. man, I love your skyline

it is great from any angle

2. This vantage is one of my favorites. The street bends about a block

behind where I was standing and begins a long downhill slope and suddenly downtown looms up. The telephoto exaggerates the sense of proximity a little, but even to the naked eye the skyline looks close here, though it's four miles away.

3. Love two and four. The perspective and timing in two

is very good, the work of a pro.


Four is lovely. The composition is top notch, but it is the lighting that makes it stand above all. The slightly blurred car is perfect.

4. Thanks, alfredo. I almost went with the color version of 4

but your comments about a black and white spring made me rethink it. The desaturation serves the light so well. I've done a larger version of this for a new Flickr set, and cropped to the original aspect ratio to get rid of the blown wall on the right and a redundant bit of sky. Other than that one part of the scene, the sunshine hitting these mundane things was revelatory once I ditched the color.
