8 texture & pattern studies
and second pretentious thread title tonight!





This one was inspired by HarveyDarkey's post. The geometry in his shots is a lot more interesting than what I got, but it got me motivated to find some tire tracks before the winter gave up the ghost.

I can read the inscription but I was wondering about the story behind it. Do you know?

6. This is part of a sculpture behind a nearby church.
There's no explanatory plaque, but I think what happened is they got dozens of kids to each model a panel in clay and then set them all into the finished work, which is large. Most, though not all, of the panels seem to be on the theme of children suffering. This one is either a testament to great empathy or to a tragic personal story, or both.

I have some photos of the entire piece, but it's the details like this one that stand out.
