1. Really nice one with the brick
And whatever that green plant was. The pigeon picture is actually pretty cool too. Wow I love to take pictures on days when the sky is bright blue, and the sun is low. Your sign picture is also awesome. One of these days maybe we'll have a sign contest.

3. I love that plant, whatever it is.
Thanks! And yeah, maybe signs will make the cut some month. I have a large archive of signs.

5. I think the plant
is called a 'burros tail'

7. I just Googled that and looked at pictures of different variations.
It's close, certainly. I'm not sure a burro's tail could survive outdoors here, even with as mild a winter as we've had. Then again, they may have just planted it to capitalize on the early spring.

2. The last one
is such a warm photo. You can almost see the snow melting in the background.

4. You could actually hear it that afternoon.
Couldn't get down into the ravine because it was just a sea of mud. Ended up taking this from the top of one of the stairways into the ravine, with the sun just about to go. The trees just seemed to be breathing in the light.

6. I really like the colors and the interplay of signs in the third one. I like the
perspective compression, it makes it look like they're all together, and 40kph/25mph doesn't seem particularly slow to me, just before a stop sign.

8. Thanks, qnr.
I have to think "SLOW" is a euphemism for "go as fast as you want" or at least that's how a lot of drivers seem to interpret it.
