3. Definitely a . . .
. . .why didn't I think of that:

"Make Your Start

I always shoot two black frames at the start and finish of each group of images, holding my hand over the lens, so it marks the beginning and end of each series. This simple trick, when editing my frames, allows me to see each series in a glance."

Anyone have any tips on shooting vertically for panoramas? I've got one of the devices someone posted below but I think that only works for horizontal panning.

4. That's also a good hint
that I use, when bracketing for HDR. As far as vertical panoramas go they are a lot more forgiving since you aren't fighting a horizon line and don't generally need as many shots, just flip it to vertical on the tripod or you can even hand hold them.

5. This was a vertical that was shot hand held
Edited on Thu Feb-25-10 11:41 AM by Stevenmarc
It was made with 4 shots but I probably could have gotten away with 3 but I wanted a lot of overlap.

And I also had to ditch a crane in post

6. one of the tips, and I do it to
is to shoot horizontal panos in vertical mode. it helps when stitching them together, because there is less distortion through the middle of the frame, and it gives you more wiggle room to match them up

not vertical panos, which are a different animal... I do those for waterfalls sometimes

9. That was my question
Do you have any technique for doing that so that the shots are all lined up?
Thanks.
