1. Very nice shot, I see you have buds popping.
Everything here is still snow and ice. Maybe in a couple of months we'll see some buds.

4. Those buds have looked the same for weeks at least.
I'm not reading much into them at this point. Last year we had big snow into the first week of April. So far this hasn't been a bad winter for us, but we're not out of the woods yet.

Love woodpeckers. I thought they had red on them.

This one is a real cutie.

8. My favorite: EF 70-200mm f/2.8L
I just made the switch from film to digital. My EOS 50D stole so much from the wide end of my range that I'm trying to compensate by taking advantage of where I gained. With an effective reach of 320mm, it has been giving me some pretty good results in places where it didn't necessarily shine before. On my film camera (EOS 3), I would have had to use my old and slow Sigma 500mm for shots like these. It was so slow it's unlikely I would have been able to get these shots. I have a used EOS 5D that I'm hoping to rehabilitate to use with my other primary lens, an EF 16-35mm f/2.8L. It's such a beautiful lens, but with the 1.6 sensor on the 50D, sort of pedestrian at 25.6-56mm.
