I don't know why I am drawn to scenes

like this one. I have yet to capture one the way I want.

1. The colors really stand out, and the black is a good deep black. Nice

2. I like scenes like this too

and I have no problem with how this one was captured. The only thing I could suggest might be a little negative exposure compensation, which might allow you to recover some highlight detail in processing, but the blown areas in the windows actually add vitality to the shot, IMHO.

3. hoo boy... you mentioned something

that drives me nuts.... EVcomp... I just don't get it, and I have tried

it does not make sense to me, so I usually ignore it

and what's worse, is the smart flashes I have have it too, and it is opposite of the camera in direction

4. It's a very hit and miss thing for me.

I usually apply it when processing RAW files rather than doing it in-camera. It can be handy for scenes like this one, but I'm not smart enough to predict results when using it.
