I cannot promise on a stack of bibles...
that I might not use this one...it is basically too sad.
Yet it invites itself to be used in the contest, since it brings with it its own name of a song

This stopped me cold at the side of the road in Lexington NC a few months back.

http://www.google.com/search?q=song%20%22give%20me%20jesus%22&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

Now that I see it presented like this, I might be forced to use it.
Any thoughts?

1. I love the picture!
I love the thought behind it. It would be making a statement for sure. I think it all depends on whether people put a premium on making a semi-political statement that is awesomely expressed in the photo, or in knowing the song. I couldn't hum the tune "Give Me Jesus." While that matters to me, it may not matter to most voters. And therefore I give this picture and title a pretty big thumbs up.

Thanks for the thumbs up. Actually, surprisingly,
I was perfectly able to hum the tune before I checked for the link.
Though I grew up a Preacher's Kid in another country, some things are international.

I think it is a startling photo myself.
I was a bit scared taking it, people have guns and I forget about that often, but did not forget when I parked that time and got out the camera.

I will wait to see how the theme will be presented to the voters, meaning if the popularity of the song matters.
Should it be as well known as "Rudolph, the red nosed.." or "Love me Tender", or if it can be a little esoteric and makes you want to know about the song to complement the photo.

In that case I might have to use "Tequila makes her clothes fall off".
(just playin' with you)

2. I wouldn't hesitate
to use a picture that has so many emotive messages. I am fascinated by all that is in there, the first time I saw it and again today.

5. I remember that pic!
I thought that the homeowners needed more than just Jesus to help them out!

The trio of plaster frogs next to the bookcase really adds to the curb appeal.
