1. Things on Robb's desk.
I'm feeling very 2005 today. :D

19. Oops I took you seriously and only saw the "Rofl" as I clicked to tell you
that I had to google Mojitos, and learned that I'm old enough to come then.
It is now twice you taught me something; bet you don't remember.

In the first or second contest I participated in you had a photo about a rodeo event that I did not understand.
You kindly explained it to me like I was a two year old.

It was a photo of a little girl on a pony or horse, but the details are now flown away.

(I know that things on your desk is some sort of in joke between this forum, you, and the regnaD 'ous one.)

26. Aw!
:hi:

Someday I'll get "Things on Robb's desk," a contest theme I could win, given an unfair advantage! :D

2. Minor Tourist Attractions
None of my suggestions ever get a lot of votes, and I don't expect anything different here. I love minor tourist attractions, and want an excuse to go find one and take pictures. No, Disneyworld, Graceland, the Alamo, and Golden Gate Bridge do not qualify, but it is in the eyes of the beholder. Anyone ever seen Cascadian Farms store?

6. I second this idea...can it include minor historical attractions?
such as "Napoleon Slept Here" on his way to somewhere else? :D

8. Sure! That is great......
I'll take your word for it since I can't read it, LOL.

I'll make sure this topic doesn't get the nod, and then I promise to start a thread on minor tourist and historical attractions and we can all post whatever we have. I've got a dinosaur track from a state park in Texas. It's just a silly little snapshot but I'm really fond of it.

12. Just associate me with it; that should kill all interest...
Love to see that dinosaur track!

The memorial was on a building in Martigny; we stumbled across it while strolling through town. Apparently Napoleon stayed there before moving his Reserve Army over the St. Bernard Pass, on his way to defeat the Austrians at Morengo.

I had a shot of a brass plaque on a building in Martigny where his generals stayed (another chance discovery); seems to have disappeared somewhere among all the shots I took on that trip.

9. I like it, plus some synchronicity
It took me two second to figure out "Another Roadside Attraction"--that was the name of the caterer at my daughter's wedding reception. Here's a picture of the food prep area-- (glad I got this because the photographer we hired didn't get this)

5. In part...
Only in part. It can be macro or it could be much bigger as well - car engines, ornate building support pillars, parts of a bridge, etc. Or it could be something different altogether - something with a more political/social meaning. Wording was intentional to leave it as open as possible.

13. Cell phone cameras.
Edited on Sun Oct-25-09 07:13 PM by Itchinjim
Take a shot with your cell phone. A phone camera is what? 1 - 2 meg? Everyone would be fairly level equipment wise and all would depend on our skills as photographers. Can one shoot as well with a Motorola as they can with a D90?

Yay! Someone else who doesn't have a cell phone. Although I don't think you can claim to be a full Luddite, given that you posted that claim from a computer to a forum where you post pictures from your digital camera... :)
