Might there be hope for the East Coast ?
In my neck of the woods sunshine has been about 5 min on the days when we have any, rare days indeed.
I've been hoping for color, sunshine and light .... so this morning it seems to hold a little bit.

1. I'm glad you got a bit of sunshine today, Mira.
Beautiful squash! Lovely how the light shines through the leaf in the first pic!

:hi:

2. Where in Tarnation HAVE YOU BEEN ?
I'm so glad to see you. I thought we lost you in the harbors of Amsterdam.

11. Not lost, but pretty busy!
Amsterdam was wonderful. The pictures I took there didn't adequately capture the poetry of the place though, and the weather wasn't very cooperative either! I will post of few of them soon.

I'm traveling again. Now we're in Paris.

Tomorrow I have a free day here. Inspired by JeffR's cemetery photos, I've decided to go to Père-Lachaise cemetery to do some shootin'. http://www.pere-lachaise.com/

Thanks for saying "Tarnation" ! I got a kick out of that! ! !

Grüße ! ! :hi:

12. Great deramic. Delft? Other than that - glad you showed up.
I thought maybe you did not appreciate my posting the Amsterdam song by Jacques Brel
In Paris !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course you're busy.
If I were in Paris, I WOULD NOT be writing to you.
I would be strolling in Montmartre, with my camera around my neck.

13. Yes, Delft, ca. 1650
That Brel clip was pretty intense ! ! ! Someone listening to it who has never been to Amsterdam might get a pretty skewed impression of the city ! ! ! :-)

Gotta go-concert tonight at the Salle Pleyel, live on the radio.

See ya!

3. Perky bit of fall sun there, Mira
Very sharp and crisp pics. Maybe we need a "fall" theme for the next contest.

4. The next contest it the seanonal contest: It is all about Fall.
Last year the first one I ever entered was the fall seasonal one.
So I suppose I am now "seasoned" - I have been allowed to hang out with the photographers for a full year, and I'm grateful to them.

9. There is just something special...
There is just something special and wonderful about light in autumn. Your photos show it so well. The quality of the light in fall is what makes it my favorite time of year in New York. Vermont in autumn is just so unreal. I mean that in a good way. The colors are so intense the mountains look like living Jackson Pollock paintings. It makes you feel so grateful to be alive and see it and smell it all.

10. Thank you very much for the beautiful and sensitive words. There is something
awesome about that light, just like you say. I was crouched to shoot the pumpkin and saw the leaf. I had to lie flat in the grass on the cold ground, to get that leaf and the comment from you.

:)
(BTW whenever I see your name the window and the curtain photo springs to mind, it is IMO one of the most intriguing beautiful photos I have seen here)
