1. To say I like the first better
feels like I'm dishonoring the second, which is a fine photo. But the first has a panoramic quality to it that really appeals. It's so in-your-face, that perspective and POV. It's a real pretty shot, too, but it has a lot more going for it than simply that. Really great work.

2. First one
I'd have to say I like to first one better. To me, both the wheel and the waterfall are competing for attention and it leaves me feeling like I'm not seeing enough of either.

3. It's the first one for me. It is beautiful in the way that astounds people as a
calendar page, and is in your face dimensional. A complete photo with nothing left to wish for except being there.

The second one is astonishing, but confusing in focus and therefore too busy.
I cannot see a way to crop it to alleviate that.
But I sure would love to see it in real life to have the whole environs.

4. I personally prefer the first one.
The color is phenomenal, plus I can almost feel the spray from the waterfall. It's just a really excellent shot. The second one is good, but doesn't have the same emotional impact. It's nice framing, technically perfect, but it just doesn't draw me in in the same way.

5. Ditto
For all the above reasons.

6. The second.
Composition, textures, depth of field, color ... all the technical elements. Further, I like the novel perspective ... showing the implacable march of time (like water) and the juxtaposition of 'industry' against nature.

Yup. The second.

7. I was just about to say....
....Number 2.

And then I looked back at Number 1.

And Number 1 it is, because of the way you're presenting something we have all seen before (cascading water), in such a different and picturesque way. You've given the water such strength and volumn that you focus on that, even though it is surrounded by so much wonderful color.

Very nice job.

And Number 2 is not far behind.

10. My thoughts exactly.
The first one needs some post processing work on the brightness and the contrast.

11. I disagree with that.
I think the mutedness of it helps the shot. Just me.

12. Maybe bring it down a bit more?
As is, the shot seems to be in a middle state. I want to push it in either direction, more being the default direction.

8. The thing is.....
had you have only presented #2, it would be an amazing picture. Natured vs. industry. Tons of colors (which I always like). But when I see #1, I realize that industry is getting in the way of nature and I want to see more of that nature. So in the end I must vote for #1 (if I have to compare).

9. yesterday I liked the first one better
Today I like the second one better.

Yesterday I liked number one because I have been to the NC mountains so many times and this is just a great depiction. I love the way the falls are sort of straight across. It brings me into it and I want to go wading somewhere there is a break in the falls.

Today I like the second one better, mainly because of color--the color of rock looking very much like the color of rust, and the contrast of the form--free flowing vs. straight line. The second reason I like it better today is because I am curious as to what the whole scene is like. I keep wanting to know more about where that is.

Tomorrow? I don't know. Seriously yesterday I would have said the first one and I changed my mind.

13. Extremely tough
and I really think they both work depending on what you want to showcase. Number one obviously has the beautifully slowed water streaming over the rocks....gorgeous. The second has the nice oxidation texture and color of the what looks like an old water wheel with the water in the background. If you want the water to the be focus, choose 1. Otherwise, choose 2. I'm wishy-washy. :)
