2. How? Well, if I can do it.........

Anyone can.

I set my trusty old 2.1 meg Nikon Coolpix 950 with a large rubber band wrapped around it to hold the batteries in to a 2 second exposure. I look for a good "paint bucket" (lights) to dip my "paint brush" (camera) in and then click the shutter...while moving the camera in a deliberate "brush stroke". Only "trick" is shooting from a location that doesn't have a lot of ambient light around so it doesn't wash out your "painting".

I'd been talking about experimenting with that very same technique. Now, there's no point -- all I'd be doing is imitating what you've already done so well. :-(
