Buster
musts fell 50 feet out of a pine tree in the back yard. Best guess is he's about 6 or 7 weeks old. He's off to the animal rescue folks in the morning. In another 6 or 7 weeks he'll be ready to start gathering hickory nuts on his own...

1. Those are all too cute.
Especially the last one. What fun to hold a sleepy baby squirrel. Thanks for the smile.

2. Candid portraits don't get much better than that third one.
And godspeed, Buster!

4. I am so sorry to hear that...
But at least he went while he was safe and loved...

Poor little guy...

Blessings on you for giving him a refuge. I'm sure you're in pain, and I would be too...

Safe passage, Buster...

5. To be honest
it was a bit of blow. Yesterday I was sure the little bugger was going to make it. 40 - 50 feet is a long way to fall. Pretty sure I wouldn't have lasted as long...

6. Precious beautiful photos. The tale they tell.
I'm really happy to see your little granddaughter again, I think the last time was the link to her growing up photos all of which I thoroughly enjoyed.
And I am so very sorry it was an unhappy ending for Buster's young life.
I know the kids were sad too.

8. You won't believe it
Tonight Marie was coming in the door when she heard a squeaking sound. Stopped - looked around and there looking back at her from my tennis shoe that I wear when I mow and leave out on the car port was another little one - about the same size as Buster. This one seems to be in pretty good shape and will be heading to animal rescue in the morning.

12. He went the next morning to Animal Rescue
Here is a shot of "Bumper"

Wish I'd have been smart enough to grab the camera and get a shot of him in my shoe.
