DU calendar 2010 updated

Hi everyone!

In case anyone hasn't figured it out already, I'm a little behind my schedule for putting together the calendar. I just finally got done sorting through the submissions ("assisted" by my own animal friends), and I can tell you that we love our animals, particularly our birds :), and I have more than enough photos to put together a dozen great calendars, not just one.

I did have a few questions about some of the submissions, and I have sent out emails for almost all of those questions, so please check your emails, and get back to me as soon as you can!

The contests will start after the September monthly contest is over. There will be two rounds, and I'll have more details for you soon!

1. so the calendar contests are going to be up either tomorrow or Friday

I anticipate doing two sets of polls; the first will be separate polls for each of the photographers and separate polls for cat and dog photos. The top voted photograph from each of the polls will go into a final poll, where the top ten photos will go into the calendar. The winners of the dog and cat polls will trump the photographers' polls and will go directly into the calendar. (In case anyone is wondering, we are doing this to circumvent any possible claims of animal bias - which some DU members claimed last year.)

The first set of polls will be up either tomorrow, Thursday, September 17th or Friday, September 18th (depending on how long it takes me to get them together) and will remain up for at least 3 days.
