Pictures of Strangers in Japan (dialup warning)
Although I don't take that many pictures of strangers, I found a few on my trip to Japan, and some of them are a bit colorful. While you are in the "stranger" mood, I present

1. No matter where they are taken your photos have the distinction of
being taken with your "eye". Very special, Celebration.
It's incongruous to see the combination of East/West, Tradition and Westernization.
You caught it. Thanks for sharing it.

2. Ah, these take me back
Your pictures really capture the hustle and bustle of life in the city. It was overwhelming when I first arrived. Walk into a shop and there's a person out front hawking wares to passing customers. Inside, there's music blaring, a crowd of people talking (shouting) over the noise, and somewhere a TV blaring infomercials about the latest products, all in a space smaller than my apartment. Everything at full blast, go-go-go!

The countryside was so much more laid back than Tokyo. When I was in the city, I spent a lot of time in temples and shrines, enjoying the peace and quiet. I'd duck in, take a deep breath and enjoy the silence for a moment before diving back out into the streets.

3. LOL, the street scenes in parts of Tokyo are bizarro
You got that right--multi-sensory, so bright, so loud, really crazy. I've never seen anything like it. What is the direct opposite of minimalist? LOL.

I have to say, though that automobile traffic was may more manageable than most mid size cities in the USA--no traffic jams, blaring horns, etc.

Most of my time was spent in Kyoto, and that is where the picture of the musician was taken. The rest are from Tokyo, mostly in the electronics district.
