Back from Alaska!
Wow. What a trip. Have over 500 photos to sort through and will post a few of the best in a few days. Hopefully I'll find a "Portrait of a Stranger" in the batch.

I have to hang my print show this afternoon. Hope I'm awake enough to not hang anything upside down, though with some of my work it might be tough to tell the difference.

1. How was the weather?
It seems like there's been a high pressure ridge over Southeast for the past few days with some real warm temperatures. I find it really beautiful down there even when it's cloudy.

2. Mixed
It was lovely in Vancouver when we left. Then it was rainy and chilly in Ketchican. Still nice enough to go for a hike into the park. Juneau was cold but no rain so we were able to get to Mendenhall Glacier and get some good pictures. Skagway was spectacular as was Sitka. It was cold in Prince William Sound but when we got to College Fjord it was sunny and very pleasant on deck. Lots of icebergs in the water so we didn't get as close to the glaciers as I would have liked. Only spent a few hours in Anchcorage but it was partly cloudy and not very cold.

We took the train from Skagway up to the Canadian boarder. Very cool.

It will take me quite a while to sort through the photos.

definitely want to see more of Alaska. This cruise was a terrific introduction.

4. This summer has been SO much better than last year.
I think we've already had more warm days that we had the entire summer of 2008.

When you decide to come up again, let me know if you get to spend more time in Southcentral, and I'll take you to some of my favorite spots. I always like playing the tour guide. :)
