1. That's pretty cool
but it's not my thing either, so I could be wrong!

2. It looks pretty good but
it's HUGE--waaaaaaaaay oversized for my 17" screen. That makes it hard to view it objectively. I'd like to be able to see the whole thing all at once.

3. That's what I was going to say
Fashion isn't my field either, so I can't objectively comment on the shot. But subjectively, it's lovely.

4. I love my browser add-on that lets me zoom/shrink images with a right click.
I think the photo is stunning. It captures a 'look' of a young girl in costume ... with the plethora of characteristics of someone her age. Such a photo would, I would think. become a prized image chronicling the maturation of this lovely kid.

6. One improvement . . .
Edited on Fri May-15-09 10:14 AM by Richard D
. . . might be to either crop it tighter or to dodge out the very bright highlights on the veil on the left side of the frame. It detracts a bit from her face and almost gives two points of focus in the picture. Also there's a few stray threads on the upper right corner that could be cloned or cropped out.

Sort of like this:

Or even a close crop:

7. I'm missing the point
If she's throwing the skirt up in the air, then I would think there should be some joy and movement.

I think I get that you might be trying some new territory in photography (?) -- but I think I might be missing the mood you were trying to create or capture.

9. It wasn't really insight
It was a question. It's a beautiful idea and the technical aspects of the photograph seem near perfect to me. I was just wondering what emotion you wanted me to take away from the picture is all. Mysterious? Seductive? Innocence? Playful? I'm just not sure and it's probably just my doofiness that can't get it.

11. Ah,
well it is all of that - for me anyway. Not confusing, just a kind of look behind the veil (smile) and then wonder what is going on with the girl in the photo.
