4. yes, on the coast
Edisto Beach, SC

I think that was with a 200mm and it was about 50 or so feet away, the pelicans there like to cruise up and down the beach all day

3. Pelicans are very photogenic
That looks like a brown pelican. Those are usually just on the coast. Were you on the coast.
