2. Self-actualization.
Maslow copped the concept from the Gestalt Psychology theorists and then demeaned it into a means to sell Esalen courses to the richies, but the meaning is no less valid. If Buddhist mythology was true, these dogs would have their ticket to Nirvana punched, certified and guaranteed, and if their expression is a clue, they would pass on that and come back one more time.

Rambling on, an interesting (or not) side story: I was first introduced to the Weather Underground by Maslow's daughter. I gave a pass to the invite, despite the salad bowl full of Green, but later went on to work with some in that part of the movement in other ways. At root it was a class thing - Engels wrote about it in the terms of his era: http://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1880/soc-utop/index.htm

3. Fabulous. I had a German Shepherd/Huskie mix dog (my last dog) and this
shot makes me look out the window at his grave missing him. They are happy working animals like you say.I can't believe I "know" someone who actually took this picture, first of course it's beautiful and full of action and emotion, and second I can only imagine actually being there !

4. They are beautiful!
I look at their 'booties' and see a small demonstration of how they are loved and cared for.

THANK YOU!!!
