I'm bringing it in here to highlight that this portrait marks the first time a presidential portrait was taken with a digital camera. :)

1. Thanks for the link.
I'm not sure about the composition of that picture, but I'm sure someone knows what they are doing.

2. That was kind of my feeling, too.
But maybe they thought the flag directly behind him would be overly distracting given his ears?

3. Lol

He looks like he's trying really, really hard not to smile. I know he has to be serious and presidential and all, but his smile is so cute.

4. Rare to see a bad photo of President Obama, and this certainly isn't bad
but by the same token, it's not great either. I know it's official and all, but it's an unusually stiff image of him.

5. It isn't a bad photo merely because he's so photogenic.
You're right, he's stiff, and he doesn't seem to exude the confidence that you see in him whenever he's anywhere other than getting his official photo taken, apparently.

Sadly, I'm getting in Sunday night, so I'll miss the big free concert being headlined by Springsteen, U2, Garth Brooks, Beyoncé and Mary J. Blige! Oh! the live music I'll miss! Oh! the photo ops I'll miss! But looking forward to meeting up with blueraven95 and taking photos of the actual inauguration day festivities. :)

Also, sadly, not getting up to Alaska this inauguration. But I'm hoping it won't be before Obama's sworn in for a second time before I get back up there. I've not had my yearly dose of Blue in 2008--I'm jonesing! :pals: Feel free to drink an extra glass of champagne for me. :D
