Thanksgiving in Santa Fe.
I went down to visit my friends in Santa Fe for Thanksgiving. It was a wonderful holiday sojourn, but very cold: it snowed the first day I got there. So we didn't hike much, but we did go downtown to do some Christmas shopping. Actually, my friends went shopping, but I, being too poor to shop this year, settled for taking photos instead. (Oh, how I sacrifice!:P)

Anyway, here's the best of what I shot:

Store window display. See the festive holiday greenery behind his head?

Back door to the shops

This is looking through the window into an art gallery. (I like this shot so much it's become my desktop.:))

Refreshment break! :D

We did get out to a wonderful dog park one day, where I took this quintessential Santa Fe shot.

And I have to add this shot of my Bearba. That's his "My life is so cool!!" face. Kills me every time! (Bear had just come back from a looong off-leash walk and was watching us cook dinner. He knew he'd be eating well that evening.) I'm including it because I've never gotten that look on film before, plus the lighting's kind of cool: where did his left front leg go?

Well, that's part of my Thanksgiving in the desert. On top of these sights, I ate like a queen and got turned on to some really great music. Hope you all had as nice a holiday as I had!

1. Nice shots
The first one looks like Tyra Banks when she is being FIERCE.

I love the adobe house with dust of snow on the hills behind...I need to see more of NM, I blew through Albuquerque in '79 on my way to Arizona for college. LOL. Glad you had fun!

3. I've learned that a dusting of snow is
what Santa Fe residents get, but up on the mountains they get serious snow cover. It seemed weird to me that this desert even got snow, until my friends told me Santa Fe is higher in elevation than Denver!

As for seeing more of New Mexico... I have to say I've been all over the state and it all looks pretty much the same to me: cactus, mountains and adobe.
