2. Surreal

Nick posted a series a while back that had a similar unreality about the light, as if it was something constructed in a 3D program for a computer game. I'm guessing it has to do with those extreme f-stops, that we could only get in specialty lenses before digital came along.

It's really gorgeous.

If I were to make one strong recommendation, it would be to rotate and crop the image so that the water is falling straight down instead of diagonal. I took the liberty of trying that myself (along with some minor level and curve changes), and got the following:



No doubt you could get a better result, both because it was your own artistic conception, and because you'd be dealing with an original hi-res file rather than a shrunk JPEG.

But your sense for composition and light here is extraordinary. I doubt that any of a number of really good photographers (translation: a lot better than me) I know here in the northwest who specialize in waterfalls could have done a better job with that scene.
