Dropped my wide-angle on pavement today.
Fortunately, Tokinas are built like Canon Ls, so the lens is fine, but the lens cap is jammed into the circular polarizer (which didn't crack at least) and is going to have to be pried out.

Then there are the DUzy Awards to post and winners' thread for the photo contest as well.

Geez.

:eyes:

2. Turns out the filter is pooched.
It didn't crack, but got structurally compromised. The lens and lens cap survived, though.:)

This was all in aid of taking some really crappy photos, too. Dang.

4. You are not a photographer if you don't drop camera and/or lens.
I have dropped my big Sigma lens before while trying to get my gear out of the car. Luckily the lens hood was on it and that is what took the brunt of the damage. It's bent and no longer fits smoothly on the lens, but the lens was fine. Phew!

5. Just be glad . . .
. . . you weren't on a boat, a bridge, at the shore, or in the bathroom!

6. A few months ago, I took a header..
on a raised and cracked sidewalk at the left corner of this church:

It was definitely a major 'oh, FUCK' moment. I had a week old Canon L telephoto lens on the camera when this happened. Somehow, I managed to break my fall a little with one of my hands. So, while the camera hit the sidewalk lens-first, the lens only sustained a slight dent on the front edge. (Unfortunately, I'd forgotten to put a hood on it.)
