I walked with the Democrats yesterday in the annual State Fair parade in Palmer for the first time ever. According to many, there were more Democrats in the parade this year than anyone can ever recall previously. Woo-hoo. :woohoo: :woohoo:

Here are some smiling members of the Benson Brigade. We don't let a little rain dampen our spirits. :)


Diane and Anchorage's mayor Mark Begich, who will be our Democratic candidate for Senate against Ted Stevens or whoever the Republicans end up putting on the ticket.

After the parade I met HullBoss and his mom at the Fair. I'm going to wait to post fair pictures because there's a chance Jim and I will go back sometime this week so we can see more stuff. It was kind of slow going with my 82-year-old morther-in-law in tow.

But we did hang out for the fireworks which were really great. This was the second largest fireworks display in Alaska history, second only to the Millennium show in 2000.
