Are plastic flowers still flowers?
I don't know about your area, but around metro NYC people like to put little shrines where their relatives meet their makers, especially on highways for some reason.
Here is one I noticed today.

1. I sure hope so
I just blew 30 bucks at Hobby Lobby on plastic flowers.

I've seen these "Shrines" in a few different states. Probably most states have them. That would be a good theme; "Road Side Death Shrines". Some get real detailed.

In one of my rare ;) cynical moments I had considered entering this as a contest pic but I decided not to upset the flow of nature.

2. Shrines Are All Over
I've seen a couple of them on the road I live off of :(

There's something just *wrong* about plastic flowers on a shrine, but that maybe sums up shrining in the first place. We are ephemeral, as are our loved ones. We need to deal with that.
