Holy Architectural Photography, Batman!

While everyone else is busy searching for the ultimate flower photograph, I offer some views of St. Mark's (Episcopal) Cathedral, Seattle. St. Mark's is one of the more unusual-looking churches in America -- it started out as a planned traditional gothic building, before the Great Depression brought work to a halt and resulted in the banks foreclosing on a church (!) for the first time in recorded history. After serving as a WWII military base, it was returned to its former role, but only finished as a bare, poured-concrete box. In recent years, attempts are being made to finish it in a modern style.

BTW, St. Mark's is one of the centers of the "religious left" in the Pacific Northwest.
