It is officially spring on my road...
It just isn't spring for real until the first crash these days. This time not in my yard but in the neighbors. They landed not one but two helicopters in the neighbors yard. Unfortunately none of the pictures of them came out.

Lots of beer and Jack Daniels in the car. Was told two took off running, two were laying on the ground, conscious but hurt. Have no idea how bad or if they found the runners yet. None were wearing seat belts.

4. I know they feeling.
About all you can say. I would not go up and take pictures while they were still getting people in the helicopters and ambulances. I just did not need to see any of that. Plus one of their moms was there. So a I hung back and stayed out of the way. Took the pictures while they were doing the accident investigation part.

2. Is your road known for accidents or just drunk drivers?
 Be careful.

3. My road is a small curvy road with
no shoulders. Ask F.Gordon sometime about the lack of shoulders on the roads around here. lol They have built houses on the farm land (call us the ruburbs) and lots of city people have moved out here from Philadelphia, Baltimore or Wilmington. They think it is a nice empty road so fly up and down it. Their kids learn from them and just go faster. It seems to be the kids that lose control of the cars more often than not and wreck. So far most have been lucky and come out of it with minor injuries if any. Usually totals the cars though. We have been here 22 years and I would say the last 5 years, maybe as many as 7 have been the worse as far as accidents. Before that there were two in our yard and 3 across the street on our bad curve. They were mostly weather related, soft misty rain making the curve slick. Now it is usually speed and inexperience.

Add the deer, rabbits, foxes and wild turkeys that cross the road all the time and you have an accident just waiting to happen. I joke a lot that avoiding the critters is like having live orange cones on a road course that you have to weave through.

There is a lot of drinking and driving around here since we border PA and the liquor is cheaper on this side of the state line. Also we have lots of bars and liquor stores because of it. Then there is the you can not hold the bars responsible if they let a drunk get in a car and drive. Even if they walk him out, pour him into his car and put the keys in the ignition for him. I will say it is usually at least adults that get the DUIs. We have come along way from the times when the kids partied in their cars though some still do.

I figure that sooner or later the new people will learn. Seems once we have the first spring crash every one slows down for a while. They just seem to forget after winter is over.

Last night the saving grace for the kids in that car was that the ground is wet and really, really soft. Had it been July there probably would of been fatalities.
