Summer 1960, one from grandma's Kodak Brownie
My Grandma's shot of her first seven grandkids enjoying the Kool-Aid out of old jelly jars at my GGrandfather's farm in the summer of 1960. The two Irish redheads on the left are my older sister and brother and the four black Irish in the middle are my cousins. I'm on the right with the training pants and the glass to my lips, I lost the training pants about a year after that but a glass is still at my lips 48 years later. When Grandma died in 1986, she had 30 grandchildren and a box full of B&Ws. At some point in the mid sixties she got an Instamatic and not a one of the shots from it can touch the Brownie's. I think it had something to do with that cube flash thing on the Instamatic. I still have Grandma's Brownie BTW.

3. Aaw...
and thanks, itchinjim!

May have mentioned it before - my granddaughter saw a few of the b&w photos of me as a kid and asked me what the world was like before there was color. Couldn't help myself and told her I was just really grateful when those green dinosaurs came along.

jelly jars and cousins - Ah, memories...
