I just ordered my first dslr
A Canon Rebel XT 350D with a Sigma 18-50 f2.8 lens.

I can't wait to get it. I've always used manual cameras before. I'm guessing it will take a while to learn all the new controls and do-dads, and to develop trust in them also. Are there people here who have nice digital cameras and use them in the full manual mode, or should I just put it in auto and fire away?

1. I use aperture priority and shutter priority far more than I use
fully automatic or fully manual.

The best thing you can do is experiment until you find what works right for you :)
