My photography, “Hey it’s is a living” (Large Images)
The 1st. image below shows the amorphous structure of carbon black. No well-defined structure can be observed that would be indicative of the layer planes associated with graphite. However, after heating to 2800oC (5072oF) in an inert environment for 2 hours, the amorphous structure rearranges to form discrete layer planes indicative of graphite structure. The scale bar = 5 nanometers. The particles are approximately 50 nanometers or 2 millionths of an inch.

The 2nd. Image shows the distinct crystalline arrays of Zeolite. The scale bar = 20 nanometers.

2. Lovely!
I have no idea what these are, but my best friend takes microscopic photos for a living, too. She works with some kind of life form that eats oil slicks, or something freaky and sci-fi like that.
