1. Over the river and through the woods
Nice snowscape framing!

Also like Holiday Glow. Makes me think of a Christmas tree fireworks happening....exciting to look at.

The Winter Wonderland has just a bit too much bright, especially to the left, to draw the eye to the landscape.

The solstice photo is more like last month's Silhouettes theme.

Am sure I haven't been very helpful. Am by no means a pro, but wanted to give you some input. So, with that in mind, am putting out there that the first two photos are your best choices.

2. I agree about
Solstice. I used a similar shot for the Silhouettes theme.

3. The first shot, hands down.
That's the shot I always tried to get but never could. I don't know why, but mine always seemed kinda bleached out. You've got a nice light balance, and beautiful framing.

5. Remember, we do have a "Winter" contest coming up...
...in a couple of months.

I think the point of "...'Tis The Season" is to come up with images of the "holiday" (or, as Roy Zimmerman puts it, the ChristmaHanuRamaKaDonaKwanza ;-) ) season, rather than non-holiday winter shots.

As such, I'd recommend Holiday Glow for this contest, and Over the River... for the seasonal contest.

8. "Over the River...."
... is awesome. I'd go with that or Winter Solstice 2005. But keep in mind that I really suck at these contest things. Regardless.... I hope you have a print of "Over the River..." hanging on a wall somewhere.
