Note that snaps #2 and #3 are framed in two ways.

Your input greatly appreciated :hi:

1. Am surprised that Lucky House has gotten the most votes so far
Why? Do you think it also qualifies for "Making Connections"? Do the others fit into this category as well?

Any input from the DU photogs about what could be done to improve the photos?

Am such an amateur re: photography. I learn a lot from your comments :)

2. I voted for the rainbow because
I just don't make the "connections" immediately in the other shots. :hi:

3. Thanks...good to know :-)
I would have thought Drunk Shadow, which was originally titled "When Shadows Get Drunk",(but not posted as such in this poll), would have made a connection...maybe I need to have the original title on that one?

As for the Childhood Path pics, was just lucky to take those the other day when a couple of kids were being silly just off the path.

4. Yes, it would have helped to have the toilet shot titled here.
I remembered you posting it before, but I didn't remember the title, and just looking at it in this poll, I didn't even notice the shadow. I might have voted for that if I remembered what it was really about. :)

5. Lucky House without a doubt for me
The first three didn't do anything for me. I know we're supposed to be looking at the arms of the kids behind the tree, but they're just too far away. And I didn't find anything interesting in the rest of the picture either. We have a tree, a sidewalk with some kind of mud smear, a tree, a wooden fence; I'm just not making the connection.

As far as the toilets go, I see a shadow, and maybe that's supposed to mean something, but then why have the other toilets in the picture?

In those four pictures, cropping and tighter angles would benefit them. Perhaps moving in and filling the frame with the trunk of the tree with the arms waving about from behind. Perhaps just moving in on one toilet, or positioning yourself where some kind of pattern emerges from the toilets.

I like Lucky House for it's simplicity, aesthetics and composition.

8. The cropping makes it easier to focus on the subject
But to me, it's still a picture of a toilet with some kind of shadow (a man's head?). I still don't find it very interesting. Plus, the ground is too dark, but you can probably fix that in PS.

Tell me why you like this photo so much because I'm sure you're seeing something that I am not. And please don't let my opinion change your opinion if you truly like this photo.

When it comes to photography, it's really all a matter of opinions, and the most important opinion is that of the photographer.

9. Actually, at this point in time, it matters more to me how the photo
appeals to others. The toilet one was taken when there were a bunch of these being placed in a parking lot to be hauled off. I just thought it was a fun pic to take. "When Shadows Get Drunk"

Am not sure I can lighten up the ground area. Don't have PS.

10. Knowing how the lounge votes
I can assure you they will prefer Lucky House over the others.
