1. Them's some pretty sharp rocks and the photo is "interesting" but...
What is it? ( I keep looking for a bird)

2. I think I see a bird.
just barely left of center, note the lone speck of white. Think bird feet. Looks like a grey ptarmigan with neck stretched and head held high. I have never seen one that color though.

On the other hand I might have an active imagination.

Good eyes, Chknltl. Tricky little critters, aren't they?

4. Yep.
Never seen one that color before... Somewhere in my archives I have a slightly blurry shot of a ptarmigan but it was brown. I nearly stepped on it while hiking along a trail.

5. Yup, you found it
I think it provides pretty good evidence that the aliens inside Mt. Rainier designed the rockfalls so as to camoflage the bird so that the hawks don't eat too much and fall out the sky, so people don't have birds falling on them all the time and then begin questioning their beliefs about alien intelligence.

6. Hooray for me...
MT. Rainier....That is my neck of the woods. For years I wondered why nobody ever gets conked on the head by falling obese birds of prey. Now I know. The things one learns in the DU photo group...

BTW: I think aliens are very intelligent, have you ever met one who voted for bush?...
