Now I know why Bill Conti won an Oscar for his "TheRight Stuff" soundtrack

He cribbed the main theme from Tchaikowsky's Violin Concerto in D Major!

I bought a new CD that had his Piano Concerto # 1 in B-flat Major (one of my favorites), and also had a recording of the violin concerto on it. I'm listening to it while surfing the net, when I hear a interesting theme. "Hmm. That sounds familiar", I thought. "Wait a minute!... That's...that's...THE RIGHT STUFF! You're kidding! Tchaikowsky?"

Yep. B-)
