Travel back in time from Obama to Augustus

In this game, one is to select a national leader whose time in power overlaps by at least a year with an earlier national leader and continue to do this until one reaches the reign of Augustus Caesar. The winner is the person who can make a connection from President Obama back to Augustus using the fewest leaders.

So, to start, one begins with Presdient Obama and then selects a leader whose is currently in power or left office at least a year after the President was sworn in. Queen Elizabeth II would be a good choice.

Popes are allowed as they head the Vatican which if recognized by many nations as being sovereign.
