What's the smallest action that you would call "serious resistance"
by residents of the Falkland Islands to the members of the Argentine military forces that occupied the Falkland Islands?

In the news recently:

"Argentina renews falkland claim"
"Last Updated: Monday, 2 April 2007"
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/6517705.stm

As an ally of the United Kingdom, how should the United States of America deal with citizens of Argentina who illegally immigrate to the USA? Obviously the Falkland Islands are too small to be a major destination for illegal immigrants from Argentina. If Argentina truly has rule of law and human rights, then can we say that citizens of Argentina are a kind of "refugee"?

Perhaps the United Kingdom should announce at the UN that it will be offering British passports to all citizens of the Falkland Islands? Then it could offer to resolve the dispute by setting a date for handover to Argentina, just like the July 1st, 1997 date when Hong Kong was released by British "tyranny" and handed over as a gift to the PRC government, under the ever-vigilant eye of the United Nations.

Just as people around the world are watching to see when the government of China is going to kill the goose in Hong Kong to get the gold hidden inside, people will watch the Falkland Islands to see whether or not Argentine government control of the Falkland Islands converts them into another place teeming with people who are "forced" to violate the law and become "economic refugees."

1. I'm not sure what you mean by
..."the UK should announce...that it will be offering British passports to all citizens of the Falkland Islands". The citizens of the Falklands were granted British citizenship in 1983.

Why do I think this is about oil. From the bottom of the BBC article:

"Last week Argentina unilaterally scrapped an oil and gas exploration treaty with the UK."

2. That's news to me.

I had heard that Napoleon was disappointed to find Paris deserted and that he wanted to rule conquered human beings. So, Argentina is just complaining that it doesn't have its fair share of land? Argentina has no interest in hostages or drafting, for military service, people who happened to have been born in its boundaries ?

Maybe Israel should invade Argentina and begin the process of allowing the people of Argentina to settle in lands controlled by Israel. The people of Argentina can then learn to live peacefully with Palestinians. The Israeli Druze and other Israelis can take Argentina as their own land endowment.

After all, there are many Christians in Argentina and all Muslims accord extreme respect to Jesus as the second greatest Prophet. So, it's much more likely that the people of Argentina and the people of Palestine can peacefully co-exist than that the current arrangement in Palestine/Israel can lead to permanent peace.
