If any one is on thyroid medication
don't ever go off cold turkey! My prescription became unavailable in the US suddenly (thanks to FDA and pharma lobbyists) and takes weeks to get from Canada meds. It's been 12 days and started slowing feeling blue 2 days ago until last night felt downright suicidal and like having heart attack at same time. Called dr who realized what was happening and called in another thyroid med today. Told me pt comitted suicide going off cold turkey and to never do. Came by here last night looking for some explanation... now I know! good grief! wooosh!

1. Good Grief indeed!
I had a "similar" experience, kind of, this morning. I've been taking one of the syns forever, as well as ssri for some years.

Had a dream that I was at a gathering and was feeling REALLY depressed, as in, the dark cloud was sitting on my head, couldn't function at all, tho was with my kids and friends, and told friends I was looking for my purse which contained my meds. No one could find it! Damn! Well, I woke up, and discovered that I actually HAD missed my Monday meds, synthroid + ssri, so I really WAS depressed! NOW I'm trying to 'recover!'

Glad you're still with us, medeak, and thanks for the info.

3. I'd literally die if I stopped taking mine, and not from suicide.
I have no thyroid at all anymore, so it's meds for the rest of my life. Even a couple days without and I can feel my body getting more and more useless, and even just moving or even sitting up gets harder and harder.

And Lord knows I don't need any help in getting suicidal thoughts.

Glad you made it through this ok.
