One more kick in the pants and I may never get up.

My thanks for all the kind thoughts sent to me by DUers upon the death of my husband June 27th. I've seen a councilor and will be joining a group grief session where people like me can learn to better handle the loss of a loved one. I'm not doing well on my own.

I know people have far worse situations than mine but I am very down in the dumps right now. Between the two of us on Social security and my little job, me were able to get by. Nothing overboard but we paid our bills.

He is now gone and I receive his Social Security which is not much more than mine was. But the kicker...

Yesterday I was laid off. The company I work for is moving most of its operation south and my job is dissolved.

Hard for many of us to smile right now.

1. I was watching an old episode of Northern Exposure the other day
I've been watching NE reruns recently and am up to season 5, the final season. One of the characters, Ms Capra, says to her husband (something like), "Its too bad that men don't wear makeup. My mom used to tell me that no matter how bad life is, you can always apply a little lipstick to your lips, feel better, and face the world."

This little MH du group is small, but solid. We have some folks here that kick it old school. That always seem to know what to say, and how to say it.

I have an ongoing thread here in the group that I post there when I need to. I find it helpful.

Obviously I don't know what to say. But I'm saying it anyway.
