Anyone know what LPNs are?
Some sort of anxiety medication I'm told. I first heard of them 15 minutes ago.

1. Licensed Practical Nurses, as far as I knew...

Where'd you get the anxiety medication angle from?

3. Sorry I can't tell you more yet
I made this post in the midst of an anxiety attack. The woman at the after hours clinic said something about LPNs or RPNs or something. She used some kind of initials to describe a kid of medication that you pop when you feel a panic attack coming on. I talked to my DR today and he prescribed something but I still don't know the name of it. (Walgreens was out of it, how nice of them.) I feel better today anyway but If you want I'll let you know what it is when I get it.

4. I think you're talking about Ativan
which is a common anti-anxiety med.

7. ativan's a benzo
along with xanax (shorted acting) klonipin (a bit longer acting than ativan) and valium & librium (the longest acting).

Ativan's available in a shorter acting sublingual for panic attacks.

6. She was talking about PRN's.

A Latin term used in medicine, meaning that treatment should be given "as necessary."

Any medication can be taken as a PRN. The opposite of a PRN is a medication that you take on a schedule.

I take Seroquel and Xanax on a PRN basis.
