It doesn't really deserve more than a moment, IMHO)

I just read the review in Newsweek -

and all I can say is

This was already done many years ago by Robert Graves (King Jesus), so Pullman is hardly a pioneer. He's not going to change any minds with this.

I read his Golden Compass trilogy. I found the story somewhat nihilistic, and even worse, boring!
