1. feminists screwed up the mom message

Boy ain't that the truth. We never should have pushed the idea that we only had to compete in a man's world to be as good as men; rather we should have been saying that motherhood (parenthood) is as good and equal a world as the business world. What women traditionally bring to the universe - nurturing skills - is just as valuable as numbers and science. If we'd included that in the equation, maybe teachers and nursing would be paying a salary the equal of lawyers and accountants. And maybe it wouldn't be so easy to slander "wimpy" Democrats because mothers are the diplomats in chief and those skills are sorely missing from international policy.

2. What's even more disturbing

is that after all the efforts to change that kind of thinking it's still pervasive. I can't believe she had to write that post either, but then again look at who's running the country!
