Waaaaay off topic, (sorry) but I'm REALLY excited.

I just purchased a new Digital SLR camera and I took my first photos a few hours ago. I thought I'd share a few with you guys, but after this I promise not to post off-topic photos here. I'm really, really excited though (can you tell?). These are just a few I took downtown on the waterfront except for the flowers which were in my yard. Of course if I ever have an opportunity to photograph JK with my new toy, I'll be sure to share. :)

I feel very lucky to live here. The only downside is being relatively isolated from the "real world". You can't get there from here. Well actually you can, but it takes a really long time.

11. Hmmm, you know Boston is lovely in Dec.

When the streets are lit up with Christmas lights and there is a tiny amount of snow. (I said a tiny amount of snow, not a freaking lighting and thunder snowstorm. Yee gawds. Ahm, seriously, a tiny amount of snow and no slush pools of snow and dirt and grit six inches deep. Yuck.)

Where was I? Oh yeah, Boston in Dec, Christmas, lights, birthday parties, opportunities to photgraph intersting people and places. Sounds good, right?

16. It's a Canon 20D.

For all of these photos I used a Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 which was much more affordable than a comparable Canon lens. All of my cameras in the past have always be strictly manual so this is a new experience for me. I think it'll take me a while before I appreciate all of the camera's bells and whistles, and I really know what I'm doing with it.
