This is a quote from Thomas Kovach, a candidate who ran for a seat in the US Congress and the right to challenge Tim Murphy a rubber stamp Republican in November, one of the "band of Brothers" and a true grass-roots candidate. My daughter and I had the pleasure of volunteering to help get him elected. His opponent in the primary was a good Dem, but a businessman who believes more in the fund raising dollars than in hitting the pavements. He never even made an appearance in our area, even once.
Anyway, Mr. Kovach lost this race, but it was very close. He never had much money, only the help of those who believed in his promise to give the party back to the people and those willing to work hard for him.
What a class act this guy is, on a local talk show this morning he talked about doing all he could to help the winner and delivering wins for the Democrats in the fall. He talked about a united Democratic party and the need to put pettiness aside for the good of us all. When he was asked how he was feeling about losing he said, strangely,"it wasn't as hard to take as Kerry's loss".
