2. Finally!
The absurdity of trying to make something of that connection is the stuff of tin-foil parody.

3. Damn it, look what you've done
Now if JK is lurking here, or posting under a secret identity, he has to leave because Skull and Bones was mentioned.

7. I forgot to add the following:
Edited on Thu Mar-09-06 09:58 PM by TayTay
This was the first house that Sen. Kerry tried to get his bride to purchase in Massachusetts in 1995:

"Don't worry honey, it's just a fixer-upper. It's got plenny of chahm inside."

Teresa insisted on the place in Louisburg Square and so the secret-laboratory became that much harder to reach. (Damn, and it was so near a great Starbucks!)

BTW, there really is a 38 foot giant seahorse in Mattapoisett. I think it's been renovated and will shortly be declared a 'historic some-such' and given protected status. Cuz, ahm, we need to honor the outstanding legacy of giant seahorses in Massachusetts and their contribution to the, ahm, history of seafood and it's importance to the growth of the, ahm, aquatic tradition in the Commonwealth and ahm, honor the citizens of Massachusetts who have a thing for giant seahorses.

BTW, This is actually true!

8. It looks like a palace.
It's huge. How often would we have seen photos of Kerry's mansion in 2004? The Boston home looks less manor-like.

It does look like a palace but is just one of those 'old places that are still around.' We have those dotting the landscape around here. Until someone buys them and puts up condo's.

10. Is that the Danvers State mental asylum?
One of my favorite horror movies of ALL TIME was filmed there (Session 9, watch it now!).

Is it still standing? I SO want to go this summer. That movie is like my favorite cult classic.

12. Damn it woman, you outed my 'in joke.'
Yes, that is the old gothic place. It's being torn down, btw, so you better hurry. (Seriously, you have to arrange to visit the place with the local police. It's a huge firetrap and they don't allow anyone up there. You couldn't pay me enough to go up there after dark. Ghosts, you know.) Ahm, they are going to put up condo's here, cuz the view is unbelievable. (And the developers have never, ever seen the movie Poltergeist.) Maybe it's just me, but I would not be in a hurry to purchase a luxury condo that was built on top of the grounds of an old insane asylum. (Location, location, location.)

Damn, I thought I was the only one who would get the 'joke' on this sarcasm. But it does look like someplace a good S&B conspiracy crowd could go for drinks and croquet, don't ya think?

14. I do hope it's still standing by this summer!
I would love to find a way to get up there and take a tour. Seriously. That place just pulsed with an almost unearthly, evil aura (at least in the movie). I love creepy possessed haunted evil gothic crap like this.

I hope it's still there when I get to MA this summer!

22. It'll be there. Demolition requires money, after all
Edited on Fri Mar-10-06 07:53 AM by TayTay
And state and local governments are strapped. I'll call my brother and ask him if he can shoot us up there in one of the patrol cars sometime. (He'll do it. He loves the old place and would surely allow one last look-see for me.)

Seriously, I would not buy property up there. Very bad mojo. I told you this before, but that land was available in the 1840's to build a Hospital for the Mentally Infirm on because the land was considered 'cursed.' My Mom told me this. (Old-timers in town told her.) Those fields were covered with apple orchards because the land itself had been owned by one of the people involved in the Witchcraft delusion in the 1690's. The land was considered cursed and no one would build on it. (Okay, what do you do with cursed land anyway? I know, let's build an Insane Asylum on it. Yeah, that's just ups the extreme creepiness factor, doesn't it. And now, Condos!)

Anyway, the whole place is going and condo's are coming. Anyone for a two-bedroom townhouse in Lobotomy Corners? No? How about a ground level one-bedroom in Electro Shock Gardens? Maybe that nice studio in Murdered Innocents Row. (Ah, Massachusetts! Wonky and weird and funny as hell. Obviously, this tickles me no end. I think I have that 'Boston' sense of humor too!)

Remember, location, location, location.

23. That would ROCK
Also, you should totally see Session 9 sometime before this summer. I guarantee if you think the place is creepy now, go see that movie.

Cursed! That friggin ROCKS!

(WEL is a big fan of gothic horror if you can't tell.)

17. It actually looks gothic enough
Decrepit, but with a sense of having once been elegant. It does fit the S&B thing.

11. I suspected it was -
She already had a home on Nantucket, which Kerry could have declared his residence for voting. I assume they wanted a house in Boston. (I do think the RW would have had even more fun with it.)

13. The renovation of that house in Boston was
an obsession of the Boston Herald for like, 18 months. "What's up with the Love Nest?" "Will the Love Nest ever be finished?" "How many bottles of wine are there in the wine cellar of the Love Nest." I'm sorry, but that was really funny. (Ahm, sorry. But the snarkiness of the Herald toward my taller Senator has been funny and awful and terrible and I'm so mad at them and wicked funny. Remember, Sen. Kerry is quite, quite capable of giving back as good as he gets with them bastids.)

(Not to Herald, like you'd ever be invited over. Ever knows you drink six month old Schlitz.)

20. In a way he and Teresa could take it as a compliment
They were after all a legally married couple in their 50s who bought a very large imposing elegant town house - love nest is not the description that comes to mind.

19. ROFLMAO
Thanks - that thread is great!

I see the tinfoiler did show up and start with his (her?) stuff but there's just too much fun.

(Hint to tinfoiler: before you can claim "logical fallacy" on the part of the other person, you have to have actually presented a logical argument. Sigh.)

21. Believing the S&B stuff . . .
automatically disqualifies you from questioning anyone else's logic.
