WTF? Bush calls Iranian president "an odd guy"

"President Bush also took aim at recent comments by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who unleashed a wave of criticism this week when he described the Holocaust as a 'myth' after previously calling for Israel to be 'wiped off the map' or moved to Germany or Austria.

'Iran's got a president that, that, you know, second-guessed the Holocaust and has announced ... the sort of destruction of Israel," said Bush. 'He's an odd guy.'"

:wtf:

Just when I think I know exactly how embarassingly inarticulate and tactless Bush is, he goes and sets the bar one notch lower. Iran's president is an "odd guy" who "you know, second guessed the Holocaust" and called for the "sort of destruction" of Israel?

I am so ashamed for our nation.

Please contrast this with the eloquent and righteous statement of our REAL President, John Kerry, who condemned Ahmadinejad's hate in clear, forceful language. He also refrained from adding "oh, Mahmoud, that silly goose" to his statement.

1. In the normal world (and another gem)
Edited on Sat Dec-17-05 04:33 PM by ProSense
Bush makes no damn sense. Here, he's just relating to the crowd he could see having a drink with, you know, someone who's just a bit off the normal path in Bushworld.

More proof Bush isn't dealing with a full deck:

'Illegal leak'

Mr Bush harshly criticised the leak that had made the programme public a day before his speech.

"Revealing classified information is illegal. It alerts our enemies," he said.

The New York Times reported on Friday that Mr Bush had signed a secret presidential order following the attacks on 11 September 2001, allowing the National Security Agency to track the international telephone calls and e-mails of hundreds of people without referral to the courts.

Previously, surveillance on American soil was generally limited to foreign embassies.

American law usually requires a secret court, known as a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, to give permission before intelligence officers can conduct surveillance on US soil.

My understanding is nothing has changed. Bush broke the law...it was illegal...a crime was committed...

2. I wonder if Bush knows what people call him. Lets make a list.
1. Missing Link (this is what I call him)
2. The fuhrer (my friend calls him this.)
3. Dictator (everyone I know)
4. Asshole ( I used this one quite often.)
5. Lying murdering bastard (I use this when he give those damn speeches with a military backdrop)

5. Bsh makes me so angry, I have to resort to Shakespeare:
"Hence, horrible villain, or I'll spurn thine eyes like balls before me; I'll unhair thy head, Thou shalt be whipp'd with wire, and stew'd'in brine, smarting in lingering pickle." - from Antony and Cleopatra

3. Did you see his Q & A session on The Daily Show?
He actually was asked real questions by real, unscreened people. Some lady asked him if he knew how many Iraqis died. He shrugged his shoulders up, and said "eh, about . . . 30,000" with unbelievable nonchalance. Jon Stewart said it was like he was answering how many jelly beans were in a jar. When they showed that clip, people in TDS audience were literally stunned. If JK answered the question, he would probably cite Iraqbodycount which has the figure in the 30,000 range but then also mention the highly scientific Hopkins Univ. study which puts the number at 100,000. JK would speak about this very solemnly, not like a frickin' cut up guessing at the number in his Geometry class. I mean, it was like the chimp has literally divorced the deaths in Iraq from himself, not getting that HE'S responsible for those deaths.

Anyway, that coupled with the odd man remark is just one more example of why the guy is just simply not qualified for the job, and completely out of touch with reality.

4. i think he just doesn't care
look at the comments from his mother on not wanting to let anything get in her beautiful mind. and his own comments about how he has to go on with his life.

there is a famous picture of LBJ during the Vietnam War where you can tell he is full of guilt and hurt over what is going on with the war while listening to his son in law who is serving in that war. i don't think that's something we would ever see with Bush simply because he just does not care.

here is the pic of lbj
