If anyone wants to chime in... and why
There's list of questions on the Dem Daily K Forum covering a range of subjects about demographics of K supporters (that I was asked to provide) - http://forum.thedemocraticdaily.com/index.php

Also just a note on the new Dem Daily Forum.

This is something I was planning on doing for some time for a multitude of reasons, including the need for a private, safe environment to discuss things that should not be discussed here, on the Dem Daily and other public blogs and forums. Quite a few of us saw how this worked during the campaign. It was helpful to supporters on the ground, bloggers and staff.

I'm not bringing this up to stir up more dust but to assure everyone that to best help and serve JK we do so best when we all work together.

Dr Ron has started a helpful thread in the K Forum as well. I hope everyone will check things out. No one has to wait to start threads there. EVERYONE should feel as though they can chime in. Suggestions are welcomed. 2006 is going to be important - let's get to work!

And yes, it's coming on the holiday season and everyone's slowing down, including myself. As the news cycle slows down boredom may settle in for some and it may well be a good time to start thinking about 06 and what we all can do to help JK.

Peace!

1. Which thread is the survey?
I am very bad at other forums. (This is why I tend to stay in here. I don't reveal my ignorance so much. I need 'Remedial Blogging' 101.)

6. Register first
Tay Tay (and anyone else who needs help)

Registering for the Dem Daily Forum 101:

When you get to http://forum.thedemocraticdaily.com/index.php, you'll see a "Register" link. Click on that and the next page asks you to agree to the terms and verify if you are over "13"! Click on "I Agree to these terms and am over or exactly 13 years of age" and fill out username, email, password, etc. At the bottom of the page after some mumbo jumbo questions hit submit.

Once you are registered, I will vet you into the Kerry forum, which only members can see when they are logged in.

I hope that helps!

12. I was registered on your forum.
I have posted there before. (I just don't understand the structure. I clicked on the link and got to the threads. But I didn't see the survey.)

8. You probably need to log back in
When you log in there is box to check to stay logged in. If you check that box you should be logged in next time you come back. I checked to see if your permissions were set right and they are. Try it again!

When I logged on, more topics appeared. That is great.

16. There's 2 Kerry sections in there
One is "John Kerry News" and the other is "Strategy, Ideas & Planning"

I'm thinking now we don't need the news section since it's always posted here and the Dem Daily Blog. Anyone got thoughts about that?

15. Register on the Forum
The Forum and the Blog are separate programs.

Registering for the Dem Daily Forum 101 - version 2:

Go to: http://forum.thedemocraticdaily.com/index.php, you'll see a "Register" link.

Click on "I Agree to these terms and am over or exactly 13 years of age" and fill out username, email, password, etc. At the bottom of the page hit "Submit".

You are then registered. As soon as I see you are registered, I will vet you into the Kerry forum, which only members can see when they are logged in.

Worse case scenario, PM me here with your the username you want to use, a password to get in and your email address and I will set you up and then you can login and change your password by clicking on the "Profile" link.

for a few minutes a while ago. But this is not good that you are having problems getting set up. It's really just like signing up here - that simple. I can set it up for you if you want to PM me here.

19. Kick!
private forum... non traceable, non googleable... not meant to replace any other forum, but a place to privately share demographics and strategies for furthering John Kerry's message...

what's not to like? :hippie:

21. Since I'm usually...
only around on weekends, I kicked this thread so it didn't get lost.

Basically, KerryGoddess-- with the knowledge and approval of a some members of Kerry's staff, people she has been in contact with for a good long while-- set up a private, non-searchable forum (which just mean that no one who isn't vetted in can view whatever is written, which is very important for anyone whose public posts have been taken out of context and used against John Kerry, as happened to me and some others during the campaign).

The forum's purpose is to have private conversations about our ideas to help JK in the blogosphere and on-the-ground. It's not a forum to replace any existing forums or blogs where people hang out, just a secure place to share information and ideas.

I'm an eternal optimist, and hope that whatever issues about this forum that came up before are long gone by now. Of course, I also hope that true-blue Kerry supporters give each other the benefit of the doubt about any and all past miscommunications.

Why? 'Cause I believe in the man and I believe in those who believe in the man. :patriot:

22. Not too confused I hope
A few didn't understand how the "private area" works. A couple had a problem registering and we had a brief server outage (5 minutes or so) - which is common for all websites.

So far there have been 9 wonderful responses to the "Demographics Questions for Kerry Supporters and Bloggers" pinned in the "Strategy, Ideas & Planning" area of the forum. I hope morewho have joined will take the 5 minutes or less needed to respond to that.

We're kicking around some great ideas in there - so when you find the time after the holidays join us!
