I saw a Kerry/Edwards yard sign today.
I saw a Kerry/Edwards yard sign today.

I took a seldom-used exit off the highway today, and perched on the side of a very steep hill, I saw it.
I don’t even know how it got there. The hill is practically vertical.
Just a simple plastic yard sign. Same as the ones that dotted yards and intersections a year ago.
It was a bit faded, but the words were clear.
The message on this little sign has withstood four seasons of harsh weather,
But despite the elements, on this glorious, sunny day, it’s still standing.
Just as straight, just as tall.
Watching over the people who pass, still sending it's message of hope.
This sign has taken a pretty harsh beating over the past year.
And it’s still there.
:-)

1. That's cool!

I saw about four */Satan '04 stickers and one of those huge red, white and blue W's. I got off the road and home as quickly as possible because I realized there were obviously a lot of crazy people out and about today. I think that's more of those than I've seen in months.

3. Sorry about that.
I was quite dumbfounded myself. It just seemed like I was on the road with all 37% of *'s supporters today. I just really have the urge to flip these people off.

4. LOL, I hear you.
When I saw that sign today, I almost cried. Swear to God. The sun was shining on it, and it was so beautiful.
I don't see many bush*/satan stickers, but they make me cry, too.

5. AHm, I only saw K/E stickers today.
But I was in Vermont. (Highest disapproval ratings for * in the nation.) Ahm, it is much more courageous to see them outside New England. (Okay and to see them inside New Hampshire, even though it is the palest shade of blue now.)

6. Since 2 JK forum members have sent me Kerry and K/E stickers
I feel innoculated from B/C stickers. Before I used to see B/C stickers on cars (and there are TONS here), and get so angry. Now, I don't, because I know my stickers counteract theirs. I feel at peace now, knowing that my car expresses hope against the madness. Does that make sense?

7. Neat!
Here and there I've seen Kerry/Edwards stickers. :) I also was once going to class and saw a simple "John Kerry" sticker.

8. I see quite a few K/E stickers in Denver
I see a bunch of W's, too; but every time I see the Kerry stickers it warms my heart.

Haven't found any yard signs; but I like how I see K/E stickers in both poor and rich parts of town. Last year it seemed that the Kerry voters seemed to have the best taste in houses, whichever part of town. :)

I've got one from CafePress that says "Kerry On". I haven't seen another like it at all on a car. I like the idea of being unique.

I've seen a couple of "don't blame me; I voted for Kerry" ones too.

9. I saw two K/E signs
in one yard, on the way to church today. On a rural road near Dexter, Michigan. Both signs looked pretty crisp and new, too, as if they'd been spares that they'd brought out and set up recently. I think this is the same place that formerly had just one bedraggled looking K/E sign, looking as if it was about to get knocked off its wires. Now they have two nice ones, like sentries in their yard.

10. My little John Kerry sign is still in my window.
Since I don't have a yard, the best I could do was put a small sign in my apartment window. It is still there and every now and then I look up at it to make sure the ink has not faded. Don't ask me why, but it hasn't faded one iota! My little Kerry sign brings tears to my eyes, not because I am sad, but because it gives me renewed inspiration. The sign will remain there until nothing is left to remind me but a white rectangle. And even then, it will still inspire me.
