Boston area - Mass
Way too early for me. And they say there is no impact on the climate.

1. Nothing yet here in NE Mass
But we were advised that it might snow. But tomorrow was forecast to be near 60 degrees. Sigh! Cold and flu weather for sure.

2. Well, it wont last and it is melting immediately, but still.
Anyway, the flu is already here. My son has been sick for three days.

Too early for the flu. I hope he'll feel better soon (and that you don't get it - no one's even had a chance to get a flu shot yet.)

actually. It's pretty, and I'm sure it won't stick, so no downside. :-)

everything is white, by now.

(It must be snowing in Waltham as well, as Belmont is just next to it).

8. Belmont is...
beautiful. Just received (today's mail) a postcard from another friend of mine who lives in Lexington. She's going to have a mixed media show at the Mass Auduborn Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary in Belmont from November 1-30. "Birds, bricks, bottles and blues." Go see it if you can, she's a wonderful, brilliant artist.

7. We've had on-and-off flakes all afternoon
It's more like slush falling from the sky than snow. And it's melting as soon as it hits the ground. But it is way too early for this. It shouldn't snow until around Thanksgiving at the earliest.

Oh well, at least I have a garage spot for my car now. No more scraping and digging it out of the snow.

9. I always loved the first snow
I remember one year back in the 80's and was home in N.Y. and it snowed like 1 foot on Halloween. Trick or treating for my 2 boys was limited to the old couple next door to my parents and a trip to a friends house.

10. Today it is sunny - An image from yesterday

Shoppers and diners scurried amid snowflakes on State Street in downtown Newburyport yesterday. Sunshine is forecast for today and warmer weather for trick-or-treaters tomorrow.

12. My Hometown!

So cool to see that on the front page of the Globe.

When I was in school my father did the payroll for the owners of the "luncheonette" in Fowle's. I would go with him almost every night and have french fries and a soda and get a comic book.

Makes me homesick to see it - thanks for posting this Mass!

It's also very cool that Diana Kerry moved to Newburyport. I may have to move back now.

11. Ooooh snow is nice
72 degrees here :(

Reminds me of last year, when I went to the voting booth in shorts and a camisole top.

However, we have had our first freeze... at least three nights of freezing temps already, almost two months earlier than last year. So something's up. Not to mention the insane hurricane season that is STILL not over.... The term "global warming" is really misleading; it's actually global climate change, and it doesn't mean that it'll become balmy and tropical in every spot on the globe. Rather, world climates will be f-ed up in various ways, there will be a lot more extreme weather, and many places will get much colder than normal. (Thanks a bunch, Repubs. :sarcasm:)
